Challenging Times: Celebrating Birthdays - 3 Amazing Lunch Venues
Hey Peeps! Yes, it's been a while since I skirted these mouth-watering posts on my blog. I'm back to keep you all updated on the many hidden gems, some tucked away, some above street level, snugly residing within the abundance of tall buildings and other establishments around the previously bustling city of HK that is our HOME!
Our world as we know it has been shaken left, right and sideways by the current pandemic situation which is affecting us all to varying degrees. That does not stop us from looking at the bright side of life, food, friends and family. Food connects us and sustains us through the good times and the bad. FOOD GLORIOUS FOOD. We should not forget, however that there are huge populations less fortunate than ourselves. We pray that they are accessing the support they need.
THREE Birthday girls and lovely colleagues, together, celebrated their Birthdays during these challenging times, myself included, in May and June respectively. The following will leave you all salivating for sure: you will be taken from the unique and far from reserved menu of an iconic London restaurant ,a wonderful restaurant snugly located in the Asia Society of HK building with a name that you will most likely associate with guns, finally to the cuisine from a country known for its churros, cacti and sombreros. ENJOY x
O M G, so Moorish. This only is worth the visit to Duck and Waffle :) - this was for us to share before we even ordered. Gorgeous soft warm pizza-like bread topped with melted cheese and a generous spread of *nudja (*a spicy paste prepared from cured pork and peppers, traditionally made in the Italian region of Calabria)

Last and certainly not least: SIGNATURE DISH - DUCK & WAFFLE + $150
Our 2nd Celebration lunch and next stop is an award-winning, contemporary Italian-Japanese restaurant located in the stunning heritage site of a former 19th century explosives compound, that is, AMMO. It did not disappoint as you will see from the following burst of deliciousness in photo form:
