Tonkotsu or not to Tonkotsu, that is the question!

One very hot Friday lunchtime, I was asked to join my colleagues for ramen at 八沢-上環分店, Hachi Sawa - located in the Grand Millennium Plaza, Sheung Wan (fortunately not far from our office, otherwise we would have melted). Worth a visit to see the rather delightful pictures on the walls of the restaurant; they told me that they invited a well - known japanese artist to come and hand-paint them.

Kids especially like this one :)

We each enjoyed the Black Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen; japanese noodles and thinly sliced tender pork in a delicious pork bone broth. This was accompanied by a perfectly boiled egg; the yolk still soft and rich in the middle and cuttle fish flowers to garnish. If we're honest, this was not the best we've tasted in Hong Kong, but still pretty flavourful and satisfying.

The presentation was unusual, served in a saucepan for a little uniqueness. Well..do go and try for yourselves. Finally, friendly staff, one in particular who is now a Fragrant Harbour Foodie fan, LOL.
